Every employee who needs it can consult an occupational physician or company psychologist. Also those who never need to go for a medical examination as part of their job. But do employees know who their occupational physician or company psychologist is? Recently, every employee can easily find this out by logging in with their electronic identity card on the website seed-connect.be, a joint initiative of all Belgian external prevention services.
Correct data, always and everywhere
To optimally protect the well-being of employees, the employer must ensure that they can easily find their way to the occupational physician and the company psychologist. In practice, this is not easy: the contact details of doctors are sometimes difficult to find or are outdated. SEED-Connect offers the solution for this.
SEED-Connect is a joint initiative of all Belgian External Services for Prevention and Protection at Work (ESPPW) and the umbrella organisation Co-Prev. Via seed-connect.be, employees can now always and everywhere find the most recent contact details of their occupational physician or company psychologist. All they have to do is log in with their electronic identity card.

The website offers many additional opportunities. For example, external prevention services can transfer files to each other via the platform when employees change employers and consequently also external prevention services. Furthermore, Fedris (the former Fund for Occupational Diseases), the FANC (Federal Agency for Nuclear Control) and the FPS Mobility also use this platform to request data from the external prevention services.
Share this info with your employees
As an employer, it is in your best interest to inform your employees about the existence of SEED-Connect. This way you comply with your legal information obligation and your people always have the correct contact details. And if you are assigned a new occupational physician or company psychologist at some point, they will immediately find the correct info on the platform.
First of many possibilities
Employees can already find occupational physicians and company psychologists in SEED-Connect, but in the future the platform will be further expanded. For example, recognized physicians for ionizing radiation will also be added and it will become possible to look up which ESPPW an organisation is affiliated with.
