The following characteristics are required for the CO2 measuring device:
- Detailed specifications (if not present, the device cannot be trusted)
- Measurement principle = ND-IR sensor. No indirect measurement of CO2 (i.e., not via e.g. “volatile substances”)
- Concentration directly readable
- Measuring range 1 to 2000 ppm or more (5000 ppm)
- Accuracy/margin of error: preferably < 5% (SPF allows a margin of error of 10% during the pandemic)
- Alarms/colour codes/traffic light self-adjustable
- Self-calibration or maintenance contract
- Not really required: device with logging capabilities (useful for reviewing and evaluating measurement data afterwards)
