Lynn Charleer has been a member of the warm Premed family since January. After more than 7 years of experience as a consultant in the food and pharmaceutical industry, she chose to become a prevention adviser.
In which well-being areas will you specialize?
I chose the domains of occupational safety and occupational hygiene.
As an occupational safety prevention adviser, I identify potential hazards and propose how they can be prevented or reduced. Additionally, my tasks include providing advice and training on the use of personal protective equipment, drafting a fire prevention policy, and investigating industrial accidents.
And what is your focus in occupational hygiene?
There, I focus mainly on exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents in the workplace. I measure everything and carefully process this data. Subsequently, I develop strategies to minimize exposure, taking into account applicable legislation and standards.
Why did you choose the profession of prevention adviser?
I chose to become a prevention adviser at Premed because I believe it is important that employees feel safe and healthy in their work environment. The domains of occupational safety and occupational hygiene perfectly align with my academic background as a bio-engineer. By combining these two domains, I can utilize both my scientific knowledge and my knowledge of production environments to advise our clients.
All of this enables me, together with Premed, to develop and implement effective prevention plans, all in line with our shared mission: "Together for well-being".
Why Premed?
Premed has a flat structure, so everyone knows each other, and both colleagues and management are easily approachable with questions or problems. This creates a very pleasant working atmosphere. Moreover, there is a lot of variety in the job at Premed. I have a good balance between working with clients, in the office, and at home, and I learn new things daily. I get a lot of satisfaction from that.
And outside working hours?
Since I have a 17-month-old daughter, almost all my free time goes to my family. But I also enjoy attending concerts to let loose. A few more are scheduled for this year :)
