In today's rapidly digitalizing world, screen work plays a crucial role in almost every industry. From long days behind the computer to the use of smartphones and tablets, our daily lives are permeated with digital interactions. But while these technologies make us more efficient, they also bring potential health risks. To address these challenges, Premed is launching its new screen work risk assessment tool.
This new risk assessment has been developed in collaboration with experts in the field of ergonomics, occupational well-being, and IT specialists. The goal is to identify the potential risks of prolonged screen work and to link measures to them to promote the health and well-being of employees.
Ergonomics
The main focus of this risk assessment is ergonomics. Prolonged use of computers and other digital devices can lead to various health problems, including musculoskeletal disorders, eye strain, and even stress. By properly furnishing the workplace and offering the right tools, these risks can be prevented or reduced.
If we strive for a future where technology improves our lives without jeopardizing our health, it is essential to be proactive in addressing the challenges of screen work. With this new risk assessment, we have the tools and guidelines needed to identify the pain points of your organisation and address them appropriately.
Awareness
Another important aspect of prevention besides performing a risk assessment is the educational component. Many employees are not fully aware of the potential risks of prolonged screen work or do not know how to reduce these risks. Therefore, a training course on screen work can also be provided (subsequently). The training will delve deeper into the risks associated with screen work and how they can be avoided (by, among other things, correctly setting up the screen workstation, exercising sufficiently…).
